Description
James Eads quit school at 13 to support Mother and Sisters. Self taught engineering, designed and build first salvage boat at age 22, diving bell became a millionaire. Built 30 ironclad river boats for the US Navy during the Civil War. Designed and buils the first bridge at St. Louis spanning the Mississippi river 1867 to 1874.
